Hurstville’s first Night Markets with The Market Edit have made a strong debut, drawing lively crowds, buzzing stalls and a wave of excitement about what’s to come.
Held on Friday 24 April, the launch event brought together families, couples and young people. This created a lively atmosphere from afternoon through to the evening. The busiest time was between 5pm and 9pm, with steady foot traffic across most stalls.
The mouth-watering food and dessert stalls were clear crowd favourites. Design stalls also found their own rhythm, with a steady stream of interest. Younger visitors were particularly interested as they stopped by after school to browse jewellery, gifts and creative pieces.
The event attracted a largely local crowd, with many visitors saying they loved having a market close to home.
Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, “It’s fantastic to see our community come together and support the Hurstville Night Markets.
“The strong turnout and positive feedback showed that they are quickly becoming a must-visit event in Hurstville.
“The energy on the night was incredible, with great food, unique stalls and a real sense of local pride. This is exactly the kind of activation that brings our city centre to life.
“Come along, bring your friends and family, and experience the food, culture and atmosphere that everyone will be talking about!”
The next Hurstville Night Markets will be held on Friday 29 May. Moving forward, the event will be held on the last Friday of each month.
