Georges River Council is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from local sporting representatives to join the Sports Advisory Committee for its 2026 term.
 
The Sports Advisory Committee was made permanent in November 2024 by Council. The Committee offers a space to share information and represent local sports groups.
 
The Committee focuses on issues related to sport and recreation in the Georges River Local Government Area (LGA). It plays an important role in shaping the future of sport in Georges River. Council also holds workshops with local sporting associations and groups on all sporting related matters.
 
Council is now seeking up to 15 new members for the 2026 term.
 
Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, “Sport is the heartbeat of our community. The Sports Advisory Committee ensures that local sporting voices are heard. It allows for collaboration to improve facilities, boost participation, and encourage collaboration across all sports.
 
“I encourage representatives from our local sporting organisations to apply. This will help us continue to build a strong, inclusive sporting culture in Georges River.”
