Council workshops will help you get ‘Back to Business’

21/02/2017

Georges River Council will celebrate NSW ‘Back to Business Week’ with a series of informative events to assist local businesses in the Georges River area.

Georges River Council Administrator John Rayner said Council will host a number of Back to Business events aimed at helping local business owners and their employees build their skills.

“Council’s program will include workshops which will provide information about starting a business, growing a business and employing strong marketing strategies.

“There will also be a free movie screening of ‘The Founder’; a session on tax essentials with the Australian Tax Office and Pub Biz, a networking night that will give local business owners the opportunity to connect and collaborate in a relaxed atmosphere.

“Local business people may also be inspired at the Breakfast with an Entrepreneur event, which will feature successful entrepreneur, Strateggio and Star Car Wash founder Martin Dowling as guest speaker.”

Mr Rayner said Council places great importance on encouraging economic growth in the region and developing and promoting partnerships and business
networks in the local area.

“The ‘Back to Business Week’ workshops and events will benefit people already running a business, and those who are aspiring to,” he said.

“Small and medium businesses are vital to the success of the economy. They provide the success stories of the future, but importantly, they also meet local needs.

“Georges River Council is pleased to partner with the NSW Department of Industry and Realise Business (formerly BEC Southern Sydney), to provide an outstanding program of events during ‘Back to Business Week’.”
