Cr Badalati has lived in the St George Area since 1977, and was first elected to Hurstville City Council serving as Councillor from 1999 and as Mayor for seven years from 2001-2001, 2005-2008 and then again from 2015-2016. Cr Badalati is an accountant and prior to retiring held an executive-level position within the financial division of a large multinational company. He has previously been on the Local Government Association Executive; he is a former Vice President of the Southern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils, and chaired the former Hurstville Council’s Finance, Property and Projects Committee.

Cr Badalati is committed to ensuring there are no council rate rises for ratepayers or fee increases for childcare centres over the first term of the new Council. He is focussed on doubling the Council pensioner rebate from $75 to $150 and wants to help more young families by building more childcare centres. Cr Badalati is committed to providing excellent services and facilities to the diverse community in the local area.
