What we do

Council has a large range of job types across five directorates that serve our community and provide staff the opportunity to do meaningful work for the local community, environment, economy and culture.

We employ people from an extensive number of professions including:

Administration Building Children’s Services
Communications Community Services Compliance
Corporate Services Engineering Environment
Executive Facilities Finance
Governance People and Culture Information Technology
Libraries Operations Parks
Planning Procurement Public Works
Resources Technical

Our facilities include five Libraries, six Childcare Centres, Jubilee Stadium and 12 community venues.

In addition, Georges River Council is a diverse and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) workplace.

We are committed to engaging our staff in the management and leadership of our organisation. This is facilited by initiatives such as the Work Health and Safety Committee, Consultative Committee and the development of our Disability Inclusion Action Plan.

In March this year we presented the inaugural 'Rivers Run Conference', designed to provide networking and learning opportunities for all our staff. Collectively, staff were engaged to help formulate and embed Council’s shared goals, vision and values, which underpin our future operations and continued success.
