New banners encourage people to shop local

02/10/2020

Small Business Month kicked off on the first of the month, and Georges River Council has partnered with the St George Business Chamber to showcase Buy Local banners in Hurstville, Kogarah, Mortdale, Oatley West, Carss Park, Narwee, Lugarno, Penshurst and Peakhurst throughout October.

The banners, which will appear from 6 October, will encourage Georges River residents to help local business thrive by shopping where they live. They support several Small Business initiatives that are coming to the community this month through the partnership with Council and the St George Business Chamber.

These include a free four-part webinar series, kicking off 8 October, and a significantly discounted mentoring program, designed to build resilience and help businesses recover from the impacts of COVID-19. A 12 week Shop Local and Win campaign will commence on 4 October, which urges people to spend locally for the chance to win a $100 voucher.

Limited spaces are available for the eight-week mentoring program, which commences 12 October 2020. Applications close 5.00pm Sunday 4 October. For more information and to book a place please visit the St George Business Chamber website at https://stgeorgebc.org/s
