Sydney artist Donna Ransom to feature at the Hurstville Museum & Gallery

Georges River Council is pleased to announce Rock, Water, Air, an exhibition of works by Sydney-based artist Donna Ransom, to be hosted at the Hurstville Museum & Gallery in the Dragon’s Lair Gallery from 3 - 25 February 2018.

Focusing on the beauty of Australia, Donna Ransom’s artwork is inspired by coastal and bush landscapes, ranging from the far South Coast of New South Wales to the Blue Mountains and the Georges River.

The title, Rock, Water, Air, reflects the unifying theme of the exhibition – the question of how to show the materiality, diversity and interaction of each of these elements found in the landscape.

“The diversity of the elements found in the Australian landscape prompt me to continually seek and expand on a variety of painting languages and approaches,” Donna said of her work.

“I love experimenting with coloured inks, paper and paint, and exploring textures and forms from nature,” she added.

Donna’s work has previously been included in several group exhibitions in NSW and the ACT. The artist was also selected as a finalist in the Fisher’s Ghost Art Awards in 2016, and in 2017 her art was selected for the Moreton Bay Regional Art Awards. Artworks from the exhibition are available for purchase at the Hurstville Museum & Gallery from 3 to 25 February 2018.

The Dragon’s Lair Gallery is a community art space within Hurstville Museum & Gallery. The Museum & Gallery welcomes exhibitions by individuals or groups, amateur or professional artists, and art styles of all varieties.
