Sydney FC supports the Georges River White Ribbon Walk

Sydney FC stars supported Georges River Council’s second White Ribbon Walk this morning, marching alongside a record 1,600 community members, taking a collective stand on domestic violence against women.

W-League Captain Teresa Polias, Matilda Lisa De Vanna and around 20 staff from Sydney FC walked 1.5km with local residents including people from local schools, businesses, clubs and sporting groups. Sydney FC is playing seven home games at Jubilee Stadium in Kogarah for the A-League season.

Commencing at Kogarah Park and finishing at Kogarah Town Square, the walk is part of White Ribbon Australia’s annual White Ribbon Day. The event is intended to promote positive change, encouraging men, women and youth to stand up against violence in the Georges River community.

Participants enjoyed a barbecue hosted by Hurstville Rotary at the start of the event, with all gold coin donations going towards a local charity. Various community organisations assisted with the event, including Kogarah Community Services, Moving Forward and St George Police Area Command.
