South Hurstville Kindergarten Centre exceeds national quality standards

Georges River Council Administrator John Rayner announced today that Council’s South Hurstville Kindergarten Centre has received an overall rating of ‘exceeding national quality standards’ in a recent assessment by the NSW Department of Education.
Mr Rayner said the centre recently underwent the assessment as part of the Federal Government’s National Quality Framework which aims to raise the quality of education and care for young children.
“This is a fantastic result for the South Hurstville Kindergarten, and I would like to congratulate the centre’s staff for their hard work and professionalism which led to this great assessment,” he said.
“This rating is also a reflection of the many years of commitment the centre’s staff have put into providing excellent services to families in the local community.”
Mr Rayner said the NSW Department of Education’s assessment of the centre commenced in April 2016 and focused on seven quality areas.
“These areas included education program and practice, children’s health and safety, physical environment, staffing arrangements, relationships with children, collaborative partnerships with families and communities and leadership and service management,” he said.
“Knowing that the centre has achieved such a high rating across these fields not only paints a great picture for the parents of the work staff do, but also brings with it peace of mind for the parents of children in their care.”
