Oatley Village Festival warming up to be a great day out

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Oatley Lions Club, and one of the key celebrations is set to take place at this year’s Oatley Village Festival on Saturday 21 October 2017.

Georges River Council is proud to be one of the major sponsors of the festival, which is a popular community event offering a huge choice of food, craft and variety stalls, activities and entertainers.

Among the entertainment line-up there will be local dance groups, a range of musical performances from jazz, brass, rock, pop and local school bands. Roving bands on the day will include the St George Scottish Pipe Band and the Riverwood Squadron Drum Corp.

For the little ones there will be an animal farm, face painting, amusement rides, pony rides, a 7D interactive cinema and even Harley Davidson motorcycle rides.

One of the biggest drawcards of the festival is the Lions Trash and Treasure, where it’s possible to snag a bargain on a huge range of items, from books and jewellery, to household goods, toys and vinyl records.

The Town Crier will once again be letting the crowd know what’s happening throughout the day, and the latest Oatley Calendar will be launched – don’t miss out on your copy!

The festival is located just across the road from Oatley Railway Station. Visitors are encouraged to leave the car at home and either walk, cycle or take public transport, however off-street parking will be available for $5 at the Oatley Senior Campus of Georges River College in Hurstville Road, Oatley.

There is also a free Festival Courtesy Bus operating in the local area only – for bookings contact Jubilee Community Services on 9579 6322.
