Media statement - White Ribbon Australia

Georges River Council has issued a media statement following White Ribbon Australia’s recent announcement that it will be closing its doors.
Georges River Council would like to update the community on plans regarding its annual White Ribbon Walk in November following the recent announcement regarding the unfortunate liquidation of White Ribbon Australia.
Council will continue its walk to raise awareness on the issue of domestic violence on Friday 22 November 2019. While the event can no longer be associated with White Ribbon Australia, all current event plans will progress as scheduled, so that alongside our community, we can continue to take a stand against domestic violence.
The event on Friday 22 November 2019 will see the Georges River community come together for the third time to march 1.5 kilometres, from Netstrata Jubilee Stadium in Kogarah, to Kogarah Town Square. For more information please call Council on 9330 6400 or visit
