Meade Park adventure playground has something for everyone

Residents and visitors to Allawah are encouraged to head to Meade Park to try out the brand new, all-inclusive adventure playground which was officially opened on Tuesday 9 July.

Mayor of Georges River Council, Kevin Greene said the new all-inclusive adventure playground will offer fun for everyone.

“The playground incorporates diverse zones for all ages and abilities, with activity zones for toddlers. For the young and inquisitive, a sensory-focused play zone with stimulating and imaginative activities allows for social play and sensory learning,” added Mayor Greene.

Kogarah Bay Ward Councillor Nick Katris, who initiated the project, expressed his pleasure at seeing the new playground finalised.

“The Meade Park adventure playground provides the local community with a much needed first-class asset which caters for a range of both passive and active recreational pursuits,” said Cr Katris.

“Council went out to the community to find out what sort of inclusions they wanted to see at the new playground, and the final design was based on this consultation, to ensure their needs were met.

“The adventure playground provides elements of play and learning for children of all abilities and ages, while providing open spaces and enhanced landscaping.

“New shade structures, accessible picnic shelters and barbeque facilities have also been included for community members to enjoy,” added Cr Katris.

The Meade Park playground was installed at a cost of $600,000.
