Indira Naidoo is coming to Hurstville City Library

Best-selling author, journalist, television presenter and gardening enthusiast Indira Naidoo will visit Hurstville City Library on Thursday, 26 May to talk about her books The Edible Balcony (2011) and The Edible City (2015).

Administrator of Georges River Council John Rayner said Indira’s books provide practical ‘how-to’ information about creating edible gardens in the backyard or balcony, and about utilising urban spaces to grow produce.

"Indira shares handy gardening tips and practical advice on beekeeping, worm farming, composting and setting up your own community garden, as well as a number of delicious recipes," he said.

"Through her books, Indira shows that you don't need a sprawling backyard to grow delicious fruits, vegetables and herbs of your own.

"As part of the presentation, Indira will also demonstrate how to plant and look after herb seedlings.

"I encourage everybody to attend this interesting and informative talk to learn more about sustainable living."
