In Their Shoes: Exhibition + Installation opening

The Dragon’s Lair Gallery invites the public to attend the exhibition opening for its upcoming event, In Their Shoes: Exhibition and Installation.

In Their Shoes is an interactive community installation/exhibition, supporting and creating awareness for families that have a child with a disability.

Participants/artists are members of the Chinese Parents Association – Children With Disability (CPA) who have shared fascinating glimpses into their lives, enabling visitors to imagine what it would be like to be “in their shoes”.

Visitors can spend time exploring the intimate thoughts and experiences of family members from the CPA.

The exhibition will feature portraits and personal memorabilia of six individuals and their stories and will also be presented in Chinese to acknowledge and create acceptance of Cultural and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities within Australia.

Chinese characters are also being used to make the installation accessible to individuals who do not speak English.

The exhibition will also be presented online via the ART & MUSIC Facebook page for individuals and families that are unable to attend the launch/showing of the exhibition. An accompanying booklet will also be available.

The exhibition project is supported by Club Central Hurstville and is curated by Nick Baldas.
