ICAC investigation into Georges River councillors

Georges River Council remains focussed on continuing to provide excellent services following confirmation by the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) of an active and ongoing investigation into Georges River Councillors Vince Badalati and Con Hindi.

In response to the ICAC notification Council at its meeting on 14 December 2020 called on the councillors to step aside from all councillor duties until such time as the ICAC investigation is concluded.

Georges River Council Mayor said that the Council's priority is to continue serving its diverse and growing community.

“While this investigation takes place, our duty of care remains solely with our community and our staff,” said Mayor Greene.

“We will work cooperatively with the Commission and other agencies and while the investigation is ongoing will provide no further comment.

“Georges River Council assures our community that all Council services will continue to be delivered in a timely and professional manner, and the investigation will not impact key projects, all of which will continue to be progressed as planned.

“The people of Georges River area are entitled to expect they will be served by elected officials who have their very best interests at heart.  No matter what the outcome of this investigation, that is what we are committed to,” added Mayor Greene.
