Help keep the Georges River area beautiful on Clean Up Australia Day

14/02/2018

Residents are encouraged to help keep the Georges River area beautiful by getting involved in Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday 4 March 2018.

Participating in this annual event provides a fantastic opportunity to get involved in a community activity, while helping to remove rubbish from our public spaces and making them attractive to everyone.

Council is facilitating two clean-up sites on the day and participants can register online via the Clean Up Australia Day website, www.cleanupaustraliaday.org.au.

The clean-up crew for Oatley Park Reserve will meet at the Oatley Park Castle on Douglas Haig Street, Oatley, and the Lime Kiln Bay Bushland Sanctuary site group will meet at the reserve opposite 23 Waterfall Road, Oatley. Both groups will meet at 8.30am, with the sessions finishing at 11.30am.

Alternatively, members of the community can join another registered site or identify their own clean-up site and register it online via the Clean Up Australia Day website.

Support of Clean Up Australia Day activities complement other recent and upcoming Council initiatives to make the Georges River an attractive and vibrant place to live. These include the Big Wash which was held in November and December, the Kogarah Clean which commenced in February, and Makeover Month which starts in March.
