Georges River Council invites everyone to attend the next Music at Twilight Concert

07/10/2016

Georges River Council Administrator John Rayner is pleased to announce that the next Music at Twilight Concert will be held on Wednesday 3 August 2016.

Mr Rayner said this concert will showcase The Best of G&S – Music and Lyrics from operetta composers Gilbert and Sullivan.

“Originally hosted by the former Kogarah City Council, the Music at Twilight Concert Series is now a part of Georges River Council’s Major Events calendar,” he said.

“Running for over six years, these concerts are hosted four times each year and have featured some of Australia’s best musicians and entertainers right in the heart of the Kogarah CBD.

“For this concert we have artists Louise Symes, Megan Chalmers, Gordon Costello, Andrew Symes and Gabe de Burgh performing the classic story of HMS Pinafore.”

Mr Rayner said the Music at Twilight Concerts have been very well received by music-loving residents and visitors to the Georges River area.

“Over the years the Music at Twilight Concerts have built a loyal following, with some people having attended every concert,” he said.

“These concerts are a fantastic opportunity to enjoy great music with friends and family.”

“I encourage anyone who has a love or appreciation for music to come along to this event.”

The 2016 Music at Twilight Concert series is sponsored by St Patrick’s Green Retirement Village.

Please note that this is an accessible event. When booking your ticket please include a comment requesting accessible seating priority for yourself and your friends and family.

Another concert is scheduled for Wednesday 5 October 2016, which will feature the Sydney Concert String Ensemble as return performers to the concert series. More details of the event to be released soon!
