Georges River Council celebrates the festive season

07/12/2016

In celebration of the festive season, Georges River Council has decorated each of the five wards across the local government area with an array of colourful Christmas decorations.

These decorations include wreaths of different sizes, Christmas trees, lights and more than 40 banners, which wish residents a ‘Merry Christmas’ in both English and other major community languages.

Council is committed to making Georges River a vibrant and attractive place for both members and visitors of the local area, and by placing these decorations around the area Council is able to help residents enjoy the festive season.

To further help residents get into the festive spirit, Council will also be holding the annual Magic of Christmas event at Carss Bush Park on Saturday 10 December 2016.

A key part of Georges River Council’s Summer Events Program, the Magic of Christmas event is a key attraction for members and visitors of the local area and features activities the whole family can enjoy.

During this year’s event, visitors will be treated to seasonal food and drink stalls and a range of live performances including the Care Bears Christmas Show, singing and dancing with Frosty the Snowman and even a special performance from Santa and Mrs Claus.

Everyone is encouraged to come along and enjoy the Magic of Christmas event and get into the Christmas spirit.
