Georges River Council approves public exhibition of 2016-17 Operational Plan

31/05/2016

The Administrator of Georges River Council John Rayner announced today that Council has approved the public exhibition of the consolidated 2016-2017 Operational Plan, including a draft Budget and Schedule of Fees and Charges. The public exhibition of this Plan commences from Tuesday, 31 May and is open until 28 June 2016.

Mr Rayner said he was delighted that that Georges River Council has become the first merged Council in NSW to have an operational plan that includes integrated fees and charges for 2016/2017. The plan was drafted based on and consolidates the community strategic plans of both former councils.

“This is a great achievement, and reflects on the hard work taking place to build a new Council which will continue to produce quality facilities and services for the Georges River community,” he said.

“It is my objective to achieve the best possible outcomes for the community and to further develop good governance, to building a strong foundation for Council’s future."

“The draft Plan also sets out the actions which are we plan to undertake to build organisational capacity for the newly amalgamated Council."

“There are five areas that form the focus of Council’s planning and service delivery, including Assets and the Natural Environment, Planning, Regulatory and Environmental Services, Community and Culture, Governance and Corporate Services and Building Organisational Capacity."

“I encourage all residents, businesses and stakeholders to provide further feedback to Council during the public exhibition period, to ensure that everyone has their say.”
