Four weeks of free and family friendly outdoor movie events

Georges River Council is pleased to invite the Georges River community to attend its inaugural Starlight Cinema event, which will be held at Carss Bush Park over April and May 2017.
This cinematic event is the first of its kind for Georges River Council.
Georges River Council Administrator John Rayner said that he is sure Starlight Cinema will prove popular with the community.
“This family-friendly initiative provides a great opportunity for families and friends to get out and enjoy some relaxing time outdoors,” he said.
“It’s exciting to be able to offer local people access to free entertainment in such a picturesque location.
“We would love to see the community embrace this event which is set to become a regular feature on Council’s annual events calendar,” he added.
People are encouraged to fill a picnic basket with tasty treats, bring along picnic rugs or low fold-out chairs, find a spot on the grass and enjoy a meal under the stars – all while watching a family-friendly film on an outdoor cinema screen.
There are four movies to be screened over four weeks, starting with ‘Walking with Dinosaurs’ on Saturday 22 April.
Other dates and movies to be featured at Carss Bush Park are:

  • Saturday 29 April – Secret Life of Pets
  • Saturday 13 May – Goosebumps
  • Saturday 20 May – The Peanuts Movie

All screenings commence at 6.30pm.
Starlight Cinema is an alcohol-free and smoke-free event.
