Council services just a tap away with new app launch


Community members can now access Council-related information anytime in the palm of their hand, with the launch of the free Georges River Council smartphone app.  

Compatible with both iOS and Android devices, the location-based app is personalised to individual needs and offers easily-accessible information on Council services and facilities.

Georges River Council Mayor Kevin Greene said that the app has been developed so that residents from the Georges River area can source the information most relevant to them at their leisure. 

“Residents can use the app to make online rates payments, catch up on community news and click onto Your Say to share feedback on Council projects,” said Mayor Greene. 

“After simply downloading the app community members can fill in their personal details to receive information which is filtered based on their address,” Mayor Greene added. 

“If a community member needs to report an incident, they can easily do this via the app in real-time, all they need to do is tap the ‘report an incident icon’, snap a quick photo, write a brief message, then hit send for the message to reach Council’s Customer Service team in a matter of seconds.

“We know that people are increasingly time-poor, and the app will be at community members’ fingertips 24/7, with Council information accessible on-the-go, including waste collection, events, Council facilities, local attractions, and wards and Councillors.

“The app will also provide quick links through to Council’s website and social media channels, extending Council’s Customer Service capacity in the digital space.” 

The Georges River Council app will continue to undergo updates to improve functionality after its launch. The app is available for download at the Google Play Store and the App Store.
