Council recognised for excellent innovative leadership and management

Georges River Council is thrilled to be a finalist in the Local Government Professional Awards in the category of Excellence in Innovative Leadership and Management.
 
This awards ceremony recognises the significant milestones, achievements and ongoing work of organisations across the local government sector.
 
Georges River Council Administrator, John Rayner said he was pleased to hear Council had been recognised in this national award category.
 
“Since Council’s amalgamation in May 2016, Council has taken significant steps towards building an efficient and innovative organisation with a focus on delivering higher quality services and facilities for its residents,” he said.
 
“Council is working hard to achieve the best possible outcomes for the Georges River community.”
 
“The strong leadership and management of Council’s Executive Team has led to the implementation of a strategic framework which is seeing resources being allocated to create better services and facilities for its residents.”
 
Mr Rayner thanked the hard work of Council’s General Manager, Gail Connolly, Council’s Executive Team, Managers and staff members for their efforts in leading the organisation, enabling it to be listed as a finalist for this prestigious award.
 
“As a new Council, I am very proud of the progress we have made and the dedication and professionalism of staff which reflects positively on our achievements,” he added.
 
Winners will be announced at the Local Government Professionals Awards event in Sydney on 6 April 2017.
