Council flags are flown at half-mast for the victims of the Sri Lanka bombings


Flags at the Georges River Council Civic Centre will be flown at half-mast on Wednesday 24 April 2019 as a mark of respect for the victims of the Sri Lanka bombings.

At last night’s Council Meeting a motion was moved to acknowledge the victims of the Easter Sunday bombings in Sri Lanka where at least 321 lives were lost.
Council strongly condemns this act of terrorism which occurred on Sunday 21 April 2019 and expresses its deepest condolences to the loved ones of those killed and to all of the people of Sir Lanka in mourning following the tragic incident.
