Council endorses Plans of Management Program for local reserves

30/11/2020

Georges River Councillors committed to the continued development of Plans of Management for local reserves at the Council Meeting on Monday 23 November 2020, which are set to improve green space in the Georges River area.

Council has allocated $250,000 to the development of Plans of Management for Merriman Reserve, Kyle Bay, Oatley Point, Dover Park East, Oatley Park, Tom Ugly’s Point Reserve, Claydon Reserve, Jubilee Park, Donnelly Park and Shipwrights Bay Reserve.

New Plans of Management will set a clear vision for the future development and ongoing operation of parks and reserves, to provide a range of recreation opportunities for the entire community.

Public consultation will take place regarding the Plans of Management and the community’s input will be used to guide potential improvement works at the sites. The new plans will support existing Plans of Management that Council has finalised for sites in the local area.

The development of these plans is part of Council’s continued commitment to the Crown Management Plan Program that classifies Crown Land within Georges River area as “community land.”

The development of Plans of Management for a range of green spaces will ensure local residents can make the most of their local reserves for many years to come.
