Council calls on community to help name local places


Georges River Council is inviting local residents to share feedback on proposed new names for several places in Beverly Hills, Penshurst and Hurstville.

Unnamed lanes and reserves have been identified and will be named to ensure people can easily navigate their way around the streets and suburbs of the Georges River area. This will also enable the quick response of emergency services and essential utility providers.

A selection of names have been chosen for their connection to the unique history and culture of the local area, in-line with the Georges River Place Naming Policy.

The community is able to share feedback on proposed names at Your Say Georges River before they are recommended to the Geographical Names Board of NSW and made official.
