Council calls for Legacy Week donations


Georges River Council is collecting donations from the community for Legacy Week, Australia’s iconic annual fundraising campaign to raise awareness and funds for the families of incapacitated and deceased Veterans.

Council is collecting donations during Legacy Week, from 30 August to 5 September 2020, at its Hurstville Customer Service Centre, and the Hurstville, Clive James and Penshurst Libraries. Residents can donate cash or purchase badges or bears from Legacy trays at these locations.

The funds raised from Legacy Week help Legacy continue to assist approximately 60,000 beneficiaries, 96% of whom are elderly widows throughout Australia, with essential services such as counselling, special housing, medical care, advocacy and social support.
