Council’s Economic Advisory Committee to make Georges River a key business district

Georges River Council’s Economic Advisory Committee held its first meeting on Monday 21 November 2016, during which it set strong short and long-term goals for promoting the local area as a key economic and business hub.

One of the core objectives the Committee discussed was the establishment of an Economic Development Strategy to help build relationships between Council and key emerging industry sectors.

The strategy will also look at how Council can promote the strengths of doing business in the Georges River local government area so to attract new businesses, investment opportunities and jobs to the area.

During the meeting the Economic Advisory Committee also discussed its future role in fostering new partnerships and relationships between local businesses and also how to identify future projects that will promote Georges River as a key economic and business district.

By promoting Georges River as an attractive place for investors and business owners, Council will be able to contribute to both the short-term and long-term commercial viability of the area.

Georges River Council is committed to ensuring the local government area is an attractive place for business owners to establish themselves and for investors to promote growth.
