Bringing outside in exhibition coming to Hurstville Museum & Gallery

Georges River Council Administrator John Rayner invites members of the community to Hurstville Museum & Gallery’s upcoming art exhibition, Bringing outside in by Maggie Bullock.

Mr Rayner said the exhibition, which opens Saturday 2 July 2016, takes its inspiration from the way Ms Bullock documents her travel experiences.

“The paintings featured in Bringing outside in draw on photographs of gardens, studies of flowers, as well as cloudscapes and landscapes,” he said.

“The exhibition showcases the way in which artists can transform everyday images and experiences into art.”

Maggie Bullock became interested in oil painting in the 1960s, but soon after discovered the sculptural medium of clay. She has since become a prolific producer of ceramic works. Nine years ago, Ms Bullock decided to go back to her roots and focus on painting.
