2016 Short Stuff Youth Film Festival entries to screen at Event Cinemas, Hurstville

Georges River Council is inviting all young film lovers in the local area to attend the screenings of entrants in the 2016 St George Short Stuff Film Festival.

Now in its third year, this fantastic youth event saw young filmmakers aged 12-24 to use their artistic talents to write, produce, and direct a short movie over 48-hour period between Friday 23 and Sunday 25 September.

Over ten teams of all skill levels took part in the event this year, creating films which explored a variety of subject areas by using devices such as smart phones, tablets, or digital cameras.

All of the films are being shown at a free public screening at Event Cinemas in Hurstville Westfield on Friday 11 November 2016.

Films will be judged by a panel of industry professionals including AUGIE winning playwright Pat Cranney, Macedonian film maker Bebi Zekirovski, freelance editor Simon Greenfield and the Chief Executive of Shopfront Arts, Daniel Potter.

Winners will then be selected from across a number of categories including Best Film, Best Script, Best Editing, Best Actor/Actress and even a People’s Choice.

The winners of each category will share $2000 in cash prizes.

This year’s Short Stuff Film Festival was supported by Shopfront Arts and Headspace Hurstville.
