Councillors’ Community Open Day for Peakhurst ward residents

As part of Georges River Council’s Community Open Day Program, community members from Peakhurst ward are being encouraged to register for a session to speak with their Councillors.
The Program is part of Council’s commitment to providing increased opportunities for face-to-face community engagement.
Georges River Council Mayor Kevin Greene is calling for local residents to help Council better understand what matters to them.
“We are looking forward to hearing from our community members as we kick off the Community Open Day events again for the new year in Peakhurst ward,” said Mayor Greene.
“We want our community members to be aware that there are opportunities for their voices to be heard, and that Councillors are keen to actively engage with them.
“There are Council projects and services we want people to know about, and opportunities for people to sign up to Council’s online engagement tools in order to stay informed of significant news and events,” added Mayor Greene.
The program has been launched following consultation with community members during development of the ten-year Community Strategic Plan, which saw the community called for stronger community engagement and two-way communication.
“Again, we are pushing the message that our community members can help inform Council decision-making to benefit community interests and I urge local residents to come along and share their feedback and ideas with us,” Mayor Greene added.
Community members can register for a ten-minute session with a Councillor at or are welcome to just drop in on the day to receive information on Council services and projects over the next 12 months.
