Parkside Drive Stormwater Treatment System Construction

Sydney Water, in conjunction with Council, is improving waterway health in the Georges River by constructing a natural stormwater treatment system (wetland) at Parkside Drive Reserve in Kogarah Bay. This project will greatly enhance the amenity of the site and create a better open space for the community to enjoy. The wetland will also treat and remove pollutants from the stormwater entering nearby Kogarah Bay.

Work is expected to commence in August 2020 with a completion date in late 2021, weather permitting. Work hours will be 7.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday. Access to sections of this reserve will be limited during the construction works, with project updates available on the Sydney Water website.

Following this construction work, Georges River Council will utilise this treated stormwater to irrigate Harold Fraser Oval and Parkside Drive Reserve further improving the sustainability of the site.
