Mayoral Column - Council’s Eurovision Live Broadcast Party: Bringing Our Diverse Community Together

01/05/2026

Are you ready to sing your hearts out Georges River? Australia’s biggest live Eurovision party is back for its seventh year! We’re thrilled to welcome everyone to Marana Auditorium on Sunday, 17 May 2026.

This year we will be broadcasting the 70th year of Eurovision, hosted by the “City of Music”: Vienna, Austria. Every year, our community dives into the celebration. We don vibrant outfits and sing along to memorable performances.

Eurovision creates an atmosphere that is both electrifying and welcoming. Whether you are a longtime fan or experiencing Eurovision for the first time, this event offers a shared experience that unites people through music, creativity and fun.

More than a music contest, Eurovision is a celebration of connection, culture and belonging. It provides a unique opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to come together, share traditions and connect across generations. It is truly uplifting to watch families, friends, and the wider community come together to celebrate their cultures. These moments strengthen the bonds that make our community so special.

Georges River is home to a vibrant and diverse community, with 46 per cent of our population born overseas. Events like our Eurovision Live Broadcast Party reflect this diversity. We remain committed to nurturing a community where everyone feels welcomed and respected.

I warmly invite everyone to join us for a memorable morning of music, culture and community spirit. Come along, raise your flags, and cheer on Australia’s entrant, Delta Goodrem. I look forward to seeing our community spirit shine once again.
