Mayoral Column - Coming Together This Easter and School Holiday Season

03/04/2026

As we move into the start of April, I’d like to wish everyone in our community a happy Easter and restful beginning to the school holidays.

This time of year is always a welcome pause. This holiday period offers a chance to reflect, slow down and spend meaningful time with those around us.

As a mother myself, I know how important these quieter moments can be. The school holidays give us a chance to step away from our busy schedules and spend more time with our loved ones.

This season is also a reminder of the importance of community. Easter and the school holidays encourage us to look out for one another, reconnect with neighbours and take time to care for ourselves and each other. Even small moments help strengthen the sense of belonging that makes our community special.

The beginning of Autumn will kick off with a range of community activities and events, offering opportunities for people of all ages to relax, connect and enjoy what Georges River has to offer.

I hope everyone finds the chance to rest, recharge and enjoy spending time with each other. Whether you’re staying close to home or taking a short getaway, I wish you a safe, happy and peaceful Easter.
