The Battle of the Beats competition is a key event in the Georges River Youth Festival (GRYFest), designed to showcase the talents of young, amateur musicians. This event is brought to you by Council's Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) and 3Bridges Youth Zone.
Returning for the fourth time, we're preparing for Battle of the Beats 2026 to be the biggest and best yet! Five new musical acts will hit the stage and perform with a chance to win some incredible prizes!
This year, the prize pool includes:

First place - prize to the value of $2,000.00.

Second place - prize to the value of $1,500.00.

Third place - prize to the value of $750.00.

Fourth place - prize to the value of $500.00.

Fifth place - prize to the value of $250.00.

The first act will start at 6.30pm and the first 200 attendees through the door will get a free pizza - beat the rush!

There is no fixed ticketing fee - you're welcome to 'pay what you can' (minimum of $1.00).
All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to headspace Hurstville to support them to obtain resources for their monthly groups led by their Youth Reference Group.
headspace is Australia’s national youth mental health service that provides support for young people aged 12 to 25 across mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drugs, and work/study needs.
headspace Hurstville delivers these supports locally by offering free and confidential services - including counselling, GP appointments, and wellbeing programs - to help young people navigate tough times and improve their overall wellbeing.

What is Youth Week?
Youth Week is a week-long celebration held in April each year that is organised by young people, for young people, in communities across the state.
Following the success of the NSW Youth Week program, Youth Week became a national event in 2000. National Youth Week is jointly supported by the Australian government, state and territory governments and local governments.
The Youth Week theme for 2026 is:
