5.00pm - Dyagula

Dyagula is a Wiradjuri | Ngambri | Ngunawal Songwoman based on Gadigal land. A powerful and delicate multi-genre vocalist, composer, artist, music director, poet, creator and language revivalist.

Dyagula means ‘Lyrebird’ in Wiradjuri and in her solo sets she beautifully weaves her translations of well known songs into her native tongue alongside her original songs and occasionally we are treated to an improvised filmic soundscape which is inspired by the energy of the event and Country its being performed on which is a unique and incredible experience. 

Her debut was performing on NITV 10 year anniversary concert where she was also co-music director broadcast nationally on NITV. She has performed many times at Blak Markets and community festivals. After being the 2023 NATSIMO Screen Composer Intensive recipient she has embarked on her compositional career with major works for The Sydney Opera House ‘Badu Gili - Wonder Woman’ and a collaboration between FN Australia and Māori NZ for Apple and Sydney Modern Art Gallery.

5.30pm - Chinese Drums

Chinese Waist drum is a very unique folk dance art with a long history. It is a traditional fold dance in China when local people pray to Gods, wish for a good harvest and celebrate the Spring Festival. It is an important form of the Chinese national spirit.

The ADS Chinese Drumming Group is composed of Chinese community members who love the instrument. Over the years they have brought the waist drum from China to Australia, from the Chinese community to mainstream society. 

The cheerful and festive drumming dance allows everyone to dance to youth, health and beauty.

5.40pm - Nepalese Cultural Dance Group

Advance Diversity Services proudly presents the "Dance of Himalaya" which reflects the beauty of the Nepalese culture, cultural diversity, harmony and unity.

Similarly, their gorgeous cultural costumes, sparkling jewellery, natural face expressions and dance moves bring Nepalese culture to live on stage.

The performance if choreographed and directed by Rejina Tachamo, an active member of the Nepalese Australian Association (NAA). 

5.50pm - MKUD Ilinden

MKUD Ilinden Sydney, renowned for its vibrant celebration of Macedonian culture, is a distinguished folkloric dance ensemble established in 1966 in Rockdale. Founded with a passionate commitment to preserve and showcase Macedonian traditions, this group brings to life the rich tapestry of Macedonian dance, music and costumes.

Through dynamic performances and traditional costumes we captivate audiences as well as represent the diverse regional styles of Macedonia. MKUD Ilinden Sydney is not just a dance group: it is a cultural ambassador, fostering a deep appreciation for Macedonia's heritage in a multicultural Australia. 

6.10pm - Grupo Folclórico Alerce

Grupo Folclorico Alerce is a fun vibrant Chilean youth folkloric dance group of ages between 13-25 years old. Participants are all second and third generation of Chilean parents. 

The group was formed to maintain the connection to their heritage and culture through music and dance.

At the event they will be performing dances from the Central region of Chile, who promise to amaze you with their energetic and lively dances. 

6.30pm - Indonesian Arts and Cultural Club

The Indonesian Arts and Cultural Club (IACC) showcases the assets and talents within the culturally rich and diverse Indonesian diaspora living in Bayside and Georges River Councils.

At the event they will perform two dances: 
1.    Yapong Dance, which is a Betawi dance, originating from Jakarta, Indonesia.  
2.    Kuda Lumping, which is a traditional Javanese dance originated from Ponorogo, East Java.

7.00pm - Filoxenia

Filoxenia is a culmination of two important Greek phrases, “filo” (meaning friend) and “xeni” (meaning strangers). These two phrases combined form the band name filoXenia (or in Greek philoxenia) defining the act of hospitality. In Greek culture, these concepts are at the core of every community, every family, and every individual.

A trio of talented Greek-Australian guys who had already built their “filia” (friendship) discovered during a jam sesh that their combined talents created the most authentic sounds of modern Greek and English music; and thus, Filoxenia was founded.

8.00pm - Cedars of Lebanon Folkloric Group

The Cedars of Lebanon Folkloric Group was established in Sydney in 1977 by Elie Akouri, with the mission of teaching and performing the Lebanese Culture in Australia and overseas.

CLFG will perform traditional lebanese dance Dabki as well as sketches and songs.
