St George Candlelight Vigil Ceremony

Council is partnering with the St George Domestic Violence Committee to host the St George Candlelight Vigil Ceremony at Kogarah Library on Wednesday 2 May 2018. The community is invited to come together to remember our women, children and men whose lives have been taken due to domestic and family violence, and to show our support for those left behind.

The event will commence at Kogarah Town Square with a walk in procession into the Kogarah Library and Exhibition space for a program of speeches, reflection and music. Speakers will include the Hon Linda Burney MP, Member for Barton and local community representatives who have had lived experiences of domestic and family violence. The event will conclude with a moment of silence and lighting of candles to remember lives lost due to domestic and family violence. For more information please see flyer.
