Judging panel for the 2021 Georges River Art Prize

Alison Clark



Alison Clark has over 30 years’ experience in the local government, regional and commercial gallery sector in curatorial and arts management roles. She has worked extensively as a curator and project manager and is the Team Leader Arts & Culture at North Sydney Council.  In this role Alison is responsible for overseeing a range of creative programs including Council’s Artist Studio, Residency & Creative Spaces programs, Public Art Program, biennial North Sydney Art Prize and other key arts initiatives.


Simon Chan



Simon Chan is the Director of Art Atrium, an art gallery exhibiting contemporary Australian, Asian and Aboriginal art. He is also a practising architect and Director of SCA Architects. Simon has been involved in a broad range of not for profit Foundations and community organisations which include; VisAsia Art Gallery of NSW, the Power Institute Foundation for Art and Visual Culture The University of Sydney, the Australian National Maritime Museum Foundation Board, the Multicultural NSW Advisory Board, Parramasala, an annual Multicultural arts and culture festival, the  Aboriginal Benefits Foundation, Haymarket Chamber of Commerce, the NSW Geographical Names Board and a Committee Member of the NSW Chinese Garden of Friendship Advisory Committee.  


Steve Lopes 



Steve Lopes is a figurative painter who uses the landscape as a vehicle to investigate human existence. Steve Lopes studied at The College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales, The London Print Studio and The New York Art Students League. Since 1996, Lopes has exhibited extensively with over 40 solo exhibitions around Australia and overseas. He was the winner of the 2018 Gallipoli Art Prize and his work is held in numerous major public collections including The National Gallery of Australia.
