ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Council’s Economic Development Advisory Committee consists of Councillors and representatives from industry and the community. It has been established to:

  • Provide a link between Council and key and emerging industry sectors with the aim of encouraging economic growth in the region,
  • Develop and promote partnerships and business networks in the local area,
  • Identify economic development projects opportunities and actions,
  • Advise with the development and implementation of the Economic Development Strategy,
  • Partner with Georges River Council to attract new businesses, investment and jobs to the local area.

Calls for Expressions of Interest – Georges River Council Economic Development Advisory Committee

Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitable persons in the local hospitality industry to be a representative on its Economic Development Advisory Committee.
 

Role and Objectives

The Economic Development Advisory Committee:

  • Provides a link between Council and key and emerging industry sectors with the aim of encouraging economic growth in the region;
  • Develops and promote partnerships and business networks in the local area;
  • Identifies economic development projects, opportunities, and actions;
  • Advises with the implementation of the Economic Development Strategy;
  • Partners with Council to attract new businesses, investment and jobs to the local area.

Industry and Community Representatives

Membership is voluntary. Economic Development Advisory Committee members will be expected to abide by the Terms of Reference and Council's Code of Conduct and the Code of Meeting Practice.
 

How to submit your Expression of Interest

Applicants are advised to complete the Expressions of Interest form in order to demonstrate their interest, education, knowledge, skills and expertise in the relevant industry area. Completed application forms must be titled 'Expression of Interest – Georges River Council Economic Development Advisory Committee and emailed to mail@georgesriver.nsw.gov.au or posted to Georges River Council, PO Box 205, Hurstville NSW 1481. Alternatively, electronic applications can be submitted.

Completed submissions must be received by 4.30pm Friday 31 May 2019.
