Skin Penetration Premises

Skin Penetration procedures are defined by the Public Health Act 2010 as any procedure (whether medical or not) that involves skin penetration. Such procedures can include:
  • Acupuncture
  • Body, nose, ear and tongue piercing
  • Colonic lavage
  • Tattooing
  • Waxing
  • Pedicure and manicure that involves the cutting of cuticles.
Legislation requires all skin penetration premises to be registered with their local Council.
