Park and Reserve Facilities

There are hundreds of beautiful parks and reserves within the Georges River Council Local Government Area.  Most parks and reserves within the region are suitable for public recreation and enjoyment, and some can be hired for events such as weddings and parties. Booking Rules

Booking rules for local parks and reserves:

Weddings

  • Some parks and reserves are available for small wedding ceremonies and photographs. Bookings are required.
  • A maximum of ten chairs and a Celebrant's table are permitted.
  • Structures such as arches, stages, carpet aisles, decorations, confetti, rice, alcohol or commercial activities are not permitted for these functions.
Parties and Picnics
  • Council does not take bookings for birthday parties or picnics
  • Use of facilties such as picnic shelters, BBQ's and tables are on a first come, first served basis
  • Jumping castles are not permitted
  • Schools are advised to make a booking for any picnic or other event involving fifty or more students
Commercial activities are not permitted within Council parks and reserves - with the exception of approved fitness trainers and approved commercial sporting clinics. Exclusivity cannot be assured due to parks and reserves being public spaces.
 

Offleash dog area rules

Offleash dog areas are usually fenced areas where dogs can run, exercise and socialise leash-free with other dogs and dog park visitors. There are strict rules associated with these areas that must be adhered to for everyone’s safety. Dog’s MUST be under the control of their owners at all times. They must return when called and not be a nuisance to other dogs or their owners. All dog droppings disposed of.
