The Georges River LGA is enriched by the bays, parks, reserves and waterways of the Georges River. It is a leafy, green area that includes larger regional parks like Carss Bush Park, Oatley Park and Gannons Park, wetland areas such as Myles Dunphy Reserve and heritage areas such as O’Brien’s Estate along with many pocket parks and playgrounds. 
 

Our Vision

Georges River Council is committed to the conservation, restoration and enhancement of our environment. In keeping with ecologically sustainable development principles, Council works to integrate the consideration of social, economic and environmental values and imperatives into its decision making.
 

Trees and Bushland
Georges River contains over 300 parks and bushland reserves. These are home to a variety of native animals.

We place a high priority on enhancing the beauty, character and amenities of parks/reserves for the benefit of our community.
Pollution
Pollution can considerably affect our health and the environment we live in. 
Waterways and Wetlands
Our local wetlands host diverse wildlife and provide recreational activities for visitors and our community.

As a community, it is important for us to consider our impact and take steps to protect and conserve our natural environment.
Biodiversity
Preserving biodiversity is crucial for our planet. We try to minimise local activities' that impact native vulnerable species.
