Penshurst Park Sporting Hub

Stage 2 of the Penshurst Park Sporting Hub project is scheduled to commence soon.

These works will see the construction of a grandstand designed to seat 275 spectators and includes change rooms, players facilities, sports medical rooms suitable for physiotherapy, as well as referee rooms.

Other facilities to be introduced to the site will include synthetic soccer and cricket pitches, a walking/running track, scoreboard, relocation of playground equipment, inclusion of exercise stations, public toilets, a canteen and bar.

The Penshurst Park Sporting Hub will also house a dedicated youth centre. Other improvements to the site will include lighting, landscaping, the addition of 327 car parking spaces, and provision for a bus entry and exit point off Cambridge Street as well as parking for four buses on site.

Works outlined in Stage 3 of the project will enhance and extend the existing Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre Facilities. These include the construction of an internal grandstand, two multi-courts suitable for basketball and Futsal, change room facilities, a gymnastics space, café, outdoor deck and associated landscaping.

These works are consistent with the Masterplan and Plan of Management for the site, approved by the former Hurstville City Council in 2015, which was designed to provide the community with a regional centre for sporting excellence.

Estimated cost of works for Stages 2 and 3 are approximately $17million.  Funding sources for these works include the Federal Government grant s94 and s94A funds.
