Rights of Review
If you want to request a review of a decision about a formal access application under the GIPA Act you can apply to Council for an internal review. This review will be conducted by someone more senior than the original decision maker and incurs a $40 fee. Applicants have 20 working days from receiving the notice of a decision to ask for an internal review.
You also have the option to request an external review by the Information Commissioner or the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT).
