Cultural Services

Culture is important to the Georges River Council community. It is expressed in many forms including community heritage and through the arts, performance, music, history, language, education, leisure and celebrations of daily life.

Georges River Council recognises that the quality of life of the community can be improved through cultural experiences, and has established a rich calendar of arts and cultural events and community cultural services for the area which include:

  • St George Arts and Culture network
  • The Discovery Festival of Community Arts
  • Museums and Galleries
  • An annual program of exhibitions
  • Georges River Art Awards
  • A program of public art
  • The Carss Park Artist in Residence program
